A Good Husband

Well, it finally happened today: that thing that I feel like I have been waiting for for the past three weeks. The morning sickness came to a head.

Here's the scene:

We were driving back from the mortgage place in Chattanooga. When we were only about four miles from home I tell Jeff he has to pull over. It was very nice that he was so careful not to bounce over this one driveway, but that slowed things down a little. I'm throwing the truck door
open and trying to lean out before he has even stopped.

Well, you know what happens in most vehicles when you hit the brakes, and ours was, of course, no exception. The seat belt locked. So the first round went all across my truck door and the step thingy (door frame?).

After everything was done with, I said to Jeff that I had some tissues in my purse, but I heard the other door close as I was saying it (my eyes were still closed because I am a HUGE baby when it comes to being sick that way). The next thing I know, there's Jeff on my side of the truck, taking his t-shirt off (did I mention that it was snowing?) to clean the door off!

True love is this: that a man would clean your throw up with his t-shirt while it's snowing:-)

WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!

The current home owners took our counter to their counter offer, so now we have a house that will be ours when the baby arrives! So, finally I can say this: we are moving for the LAST time!

Here are some photos of the house. Yes, we are keeping the dinosaurs, even if it's a girl. Guests will just have to get used to the idea that the guest room has giant dinosaurs painted on the wall:-)

The famous dino room:-) Don't worry! The snake is not staying.

I love the cute little chandiler in this room. It would make the nicer guest room if we don't have a girl.

A big kitchen is a non-negotiable for me since I do so much cooking! This one has a dishwasher. Whew! One whole year with out one makes me thankful for that. It also has a garbage disposal, something we haven't had since our first apartment (where I learned that if you put too much macaroni in it, it will come out through the washer!).

And this is the living room. It's really the dining room, but there is an identical room on the other side of that wall on the left which is supposed to be the living room. Since the other room is a little smaller, we'll be using this room as a living room, just as the current owner does.

Hello Morning Sickness!

Uh, did I say morning? I mean all-day-that-I-am-not-asleep sickness! Wasn't really prepared for this. I ate half a box of ginger snaps BY MYSELF today, just trying to stay vertical.
Any remedy that someone throws at me, I try. So far the ginger has been the best, though the SeaBands have helped to take the edge off (but I think that they are going to leave permanent bruise on my wrists if I wear them too much longer).

On a positive note, my college roomie/co-worker/best friend Jenn has not experienced any morning sickness yet (she's 2 weeks behind me) and I am praying that she won't, either! They tried for so dang long for this little one, so I just want it to go as smoothly for her as it can possibly go.

Do you like the cool little baby tracker on the side of the page? Thanks to Karen (who is due on the same day as me) for putting that on her blog, so that I could find it for mine:-)

Oh, and resigning from my job wasn't as terrible as I was suspecting. Both bosses were very understanding, but assured me that this was a door that was always open if I wanted to come back. Hmmm, maybe in about 19 years? I wonder if it would still be open then. It would be very rare for a principal to be at a school that long.

Well, well!

I think that this says it all:-)
