It's a. . .

Well, you'll have to guess.

Here's a photo from the ultrasound (we had to take our own pictures because they're not allowed to give them out at a diagnostic place, which is where we had to go since we're doing home birth).

Imagine the little critter is standing on its knees with its butt facing you. The indicator is going to be pretty near the very center of the screen. (Oh, and Jeff accidentally took it as video, but it's easier to tell if you just leave it still. Push the play button at the bottom, but pause it pretty quick.)

And here's the kid looking at you. See its head over toward the right? One of the eyes is visible toward the top (that would be the right eye), and nose, mouth and an arm right there under the chin. Peek-a-boo.

So, any guesses?

I'm assuming the butt is on the right. It must be a girl, cause I don't see any other evidence to tell me otherwise.... Either way, congratulations! -Katie S

Good guessing Emily! It's a boy. The tech told us to look for something that looked like a big mac for a girl and a turtle for a boy (how weird). Uh, that's an upside down turtle in the center of the picture.

This looks COMPLETELY different than Kaiya's ultrasound, so my guess was a boy. Congratulations. It's about time one of the roomies had a boy :-)

Oh, that's right. By the time all of this is said and done, all three of you will have girls! We knew to expect a boy because all of Jeff's brothers had boys first (and second, and in one case third and fourth) and so did his dad and one of his uncles. We've not been shy about buying blue, but didn't touch anything pink (well, one of the cloth diapers may be pink, but that can be hidden under clothes).

Is it too late to change my guess? After re-reading your directions, I do see know that it is a boy. When you said "indicator" I thought you were referring to an arrow or line pointing to the area. Now I see what "indicator" was referring to. Opps! -Katie

Hee, hee. As a teacher, you would think that I would have learned to explain things more clearly. I was surprised, since you have 4 kids, that you didn't get it right. Now I understand.

That's great Jeff and Lisa....we aren't really surprised since "the boy" trend seems to run high in the Roerdink clan. Looking forward to seeing ya'll soon!!! Tonja and Jason
